Reflection open-sources 501B-parameter MoE model Beam
Reflection open-sourced its first model Beam on Hugging Face under the Apache 2.0 license. It is a 501B-parameter MoE model (23B activated per token), supports 1M token context, focuses on coding and agent scenarios, and is already available on AWS SageMaker JumpStart and HyperPod. The same day, Gemini 4 Argon topped ARC-AGI-3 with 97.5%, while China plans to add 23 key AI technologies including large models and agents to export controls.

Welcome Beam: a 501B open model you can own, customize, and scale
Reflection has open-sourced its first model, Beam (reflectionai/Beam-1.0-501B-A23B), on Hugging Face: a 501B-parameter MoE model (23B activated per token) with 1M token context, released under the Apache 2.0 license and targeting coding and agent use cases.
Google's Gemini 4 Argon is closer to the AI frontier than any Google model in months
Google DeepMind's Gemini 4 Argon scored 97.5% on ARC-AGI-3 using the Provider Adapter Harness, at a cost of $4.
Introducing Reflection Beam: an open-weight model for agentic coding on AWS
Reflection AI released its open-weight model Beam, built for agent coding and long-horizon tasks, with 501B total parameters, 23B activated parameters, and an effective context length of 1 million tokens. The weights are published on Hugging Face under the Apache 2.0 license, with BF16, FP8, and NVFP4 checkpoints available.

China plans to tighten export controls on open-weight models and 23 key AI technologies
China's Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology have released a draft update to the export technology catalog, bringing 23 key AI technologies under control, including large models, agents, compute clusters and data processing. AI tools that can autonomously write or modify malware to attack critical infrastructure would face a full export ban.

Grounding AI agents in biological reality: Building blocks for autonomous wet labs
Google Research released the VERID framework, connecting AI agents to wet labs via semantic digital twins of lab workcells. It offers four capabilities: real-time 3D state tracking, virtual dry runs, hardware safety checks, and synchronized video and action logs, built on the open-source PyLabRobot.
