Apple Intelligence is finally coming to China with iOS 27.3
Apple announced it will launch Apple Intelligence in the Chinese market through iOS 27.3, with a beta releasing on November 4 and the official version set for December. The first batch of features includes notification summaries, live translation, rewrite and proofreading tools, Visual Intelligence, and object removal in Photos, without the new Siri AI. Apple has also partnered with Alibaba to support its Qwen chatbot in some experiences, similar to the 2024 integration of ChatGPT in iOS.

Apple will launch Apple Intelligence in China with iOS 27.3, the company announced on its Chinese newsroom website, as reported by MacRumors. The Apple Intelligence features will be available first in an iOS 27.3 beta that’s set to launch on November 4th, with a full iOS 27.3 release scheduled for December.
This launch doesn’t bring the new Siri AI to China. Instead, Apple is launching several of its earlier Apple Intelligence features like notification summaries, real-time translation, rewriting and proofreading tools, visual intelligence, and removing objects from photos. Apple also says it has worked with Ailbaba to add support for its Qwen chatbot in some experiences, which sounds similar to iOS’s integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT that launched in 2024.
Apple Intelligence was approved in China in July, which signalled that the launch of the AI tools was getting near. Apple trained its own LLM specifically for China, Reuters reported in August.
