AI startup Photon announced a $4.5 million seed round co-led by Gradient and A*, with Vercel and HongShan among the participants. The company helps developers build agents running on messaging apps like iMessage and WhatsApp, and previously held an 'app funeral' to express its view that the app era is ending.
