Roundtables: The Deadly Failures of The Virtual Border Wall

MIT Technology Review published an investigation and roundtable on the US-Mexico border "virtual wall." Over the past 25 years the US has spent billions of dollars building surveillance towers along its southern border, but the investigation documented more than one thousand people who passed through the towers' surveillance zones without receiving aid or being apprehended and ultimately died, some while under coverage of newly installed AI towers that automatically detect people.
